Yas Nakashima is LaSalle’s Representative Director. Since joining the company in 2002, he has successfully grown the Japanese business to US$5 billion in assets under management. Yas has over 20 years of experience in direct real estate in both Japan and the US. His experience includes development, acquisitions, asset management, property management, leasing and investment brokerage.
Prior to joining LaSalle, Yas was a co-founder of Prospect Development Corp, a New York-based developer specializing in public-private partnership developments. Before moving to the US in 1999, he worked as a project manager for Cosmos Initia Co., one of Japan’s largest multi-family residential developers. Before this, he worked with Xymax Co. as a property manager in Tokyo.
Yas has a MSc in Real Estate Development from Columbia University and a BSc in Architecture from Waseda University. He is a licensed Real Estate Broker (Japan) and a licensed Architect (First Class, Japan).
