Steve is Head of Korea and responsible for personnel, operational, portfolio, and investment management across the country, and directly reports to Keith Fujii, Head of Asia Pacific.
Prior to joining LaSalle, Steve was a Managing Partner at Bellevue Capital Management where he focused on cross-border transactions on behalf of Asian family offices, and an Executive Director in the Investment Banking Division at Nomura International where he was a founding member in building the real estate advisory business in Asia-Pacific. In prior, Steve was Vice President of Lehman Brothers’ Global Real Estate Group focused on originating and structuring principal mezzanine debt and preferred equity investments in Korea, Australia, and China. He also worked at Deutsche Bank’s Real Estate Opportunities Group acquiring under-performing properties, multi-borrower loan portfolios, and distressed companies after the Asian Financial Crisis with regional responsibilities based in Hong Kong. He started his career at Merrill Lynch in the US and interned at the United States Senate.
Steve holds a Bachelor of Science from Georgetown University.
Se Hwan is the Managing Director, Acquisitions and Development Management for South Korea based in Seoul. He joined LaSalle in 2016.
Prior to joining LaSalle, Se Hwan worked at Samsung C&T in the investment and development division focused on property and infrastructure projects. Before that, he was a Director at Gale International in partnership with POSCO Engineering and Construction on Songdo International Business District development project. Se Hwan’s experience in the South Korean real estate market spans from 2002 having covered multiple property sectors including office, retail, residential, hospitality, and industrial.
Se Hwan holds a Bachelor of Architectural Engineering from Korea University. He is a CFA Charterholder and a Certified Architectural Engineer.
Hyejin Cho is a Senior Vice President in Asia Pacific Investor Accounting and Finance team and is based in Seoul. She is responsible for the Korea fund management and her responsibilities also include investor accounting and reporting, transactional support, debt origination and restructuring, and corporate governance. Hyejin originally joined LaSalle in 2016 as a fund controller.
Prior to joining LaSalle, Hyejin worked at both the Jeong Yeon Accounting Firm and PwC where she conducted annual audits of numerous companies in a variety of industries. She also worked at Morgan Stanley Properties as a controller, managing Korean real estate funds invested by the Morgan Stanley Real Estate Fund.
Hyejin holds a Bachelor of Science in mathematics from Yonsei University.
She is a CPA certified by the Korea Institute of Certified Public Accountants and a CTA certified by the NTS.
Sung Taek is a Managing Director of Acquisitions & Asset Management for South Korea based in Seoul.
Sung Taek has 19 years of experience in a wide range of acquisitions, asset management, NPLs and M&As in both real estate and corporate private equity. Previously, Mr. Hwang was with Invesco Real Estate, GE Capital, Morgan Stanley, KPMG, and Gale International.
Sung Taek received a Bachelor of Science in Engineering and Business Administration from Yonsei University, Seoul, Korea.
Young Yoon is a Vice President of Acquisitions & Asset Management for South Korea based in Seoul. He joined LaSalle in 2019. He is responsible for deal sourcing, execution, and asset management.
Prior to joining LaSalle, Young was a Manager at Pine Tree Investment & Management where he executed and managed investments in special situation opportunities, focusing on distressed assets. He also has experience in development financing transactions across multiple asset classes. He started his career at Macquarie Securities.
Young holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Applied Statistics from Yonsei University.
