Objective of Role:

LaSalle Investment Management is seeking a Financial Analyst Intern to join its Acquisitions team in the Chicago office for Summer 2018.  The Acquisitions Intern will provide assistance on a wide range of functions from initial underwriting to closing transactions with a primary focus on Argus and Excel based analysis or real estate acquisitions and reviewing due diligence materials on active investments.  Additionally, the Intern will gain insight into asset selection and market fundamental analysis.

Accountabilities:

  • Work with the Americas Acquisitions team to evaluate and underwriting potential core, value-add, and opportunistic real estate acquisitions opportunities on behalf of the firm’s comingled funds and separate account clients
  • Assist with managing the due diligence process, including the review and analysis of leases, operating information, legal documentation, and other investment-related information
  • Gather and evaluate economic and market data
  • Assist in the preparation of investment memorandum to be presented to the firm’s Investment Committee and clients
  • Attend and complete the firm’s analyst training program
  • Complete a summer-long case study to be presented to the firm’s Investment Committee at the culmination of the program

 

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

  • Undergraduate student that will be a rising senior
  • Highly skilled in modeling in Excel; Argus experience is a plus, but not necessary
  • Knowledge of DCF, NPV and cash flow models
  • Strong financial and analytical ability with solid organizational skills and ability to multi-task
  • Highly-developed verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proactive thinking with detail-oriented and creative problem solving approach
  • Candidate must be authorized to work in the United States for a minimum of 3 years
