Team Overview

The wider Luxembourg office comprises approximately 14 staff. This new role will sit in the Luxembourg Legal and Compliance team.  The compliance and legal functions report to the European Head of Legal & Compliance in London.  This role will report to the Chief Counsel – Luxembourg.


Role and Accountabilities

The Luxembourg legal team manages a number of operational, investment and legal matters on behalf of LaSalle sponsored funds and separate account clients. The Luxembourg office is closely integrated in to LaSalle’s European and global platform and plays an important role assisting with acquisition, financing, structuring, disposition and other matters.  This is a busy and varied role well suited to a person with excellent organisations skills and the ability to meet demanding deadlines. The suitable candidate will have the skills and experience to master the following tasks:

  • Manage the administration of a portfolio of real estate holding companies registered in Luxembourg;
  • Knowledge of compliance related laws and regulations is a strong asset;
  • Handle requests and recommendations of the asset management and portfolio management teams or from the fund controllers (finance team) based in the firm’s European offices (mainly Munich, London and Paris);
  • Work closely with the finance team in Luxembourg in order to properly document financial transactions;
  • Arrange, attend and take minutes of board meetings or shareholder meetings – draft written board or shareholder resolutions (usually in English language);
  • Prepare basic legal and corporate documents such as intercompany loans, articles of incorporation and preparation of general correspondence for the assigned portfolio companies (knowledge of hybrid loan instruments such as PECS, CPECS, YPECS is a strong asset);
  • Prepare the approval of the annual accounts, including liaison with the finance team in Luxembourg and external auditors;
  • Liaise on a regular basis with all external advisors e.g. notaries, account banks and auditors;
  • Filing of documents, record keeping (ensuring that corporate files contain all the required documentation);
  • Maintenance of various records including shareholder registers, PECS or CPECS registers etc.


Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Fluent French and English (spoken and written);
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Team player with a strong desire to deliver quality services to both internal and external clients;
  • Able to work in an environment which necessitates responsiveness and flexibility in order to meet transaction deadlines;
  • Highly organized and methodical;
  • Able to work autonomously;
  • Strong experience with Luxembourg holding companies;
  • Able to travel periodically to other LaSalle offices in Europe;
  • Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role;
  • Minimum of master degree in law.
