Role Overview:

The role will support the management of a large hotel portfolio located in Geneva, and the acquisition efforts for hotel investment in Europe. The role is both internal and external facing. It involves close teamwork with the Asset Management, Fund Management, Acquisition, Finance, Tax and Financing teams and Senior Management, as well as liaising with external service providers and the client directly.  


Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Direct responsibility for day-to-day management of a portfolio of 6 hotels in Geneva as well as the management company. Travel to properties as needed to inspect the facilities, meet with management and tour the market areas
  • Assist in developing business plan, recommending hold/sell, refinancing and restructuring strategies for each asset
  • Drive improved operating performance to maximize asset values. Investigate and follow-through on maximizing ROI projects assigned within existing portfolio (i.e. excess land sales/development, brand changes, major cap ex projects)
  • Provide oversight of renovation projects to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and with the least amount of revenue displacement
  • Review and manage operating budgets, capital budgets and marketing plans
  • Review, understand and ensure compliance of various legal documents including management agreements, lease agreements, joint venture agreements, and loan documents
  • Review and optimise contracts and relationships between shareholders, operating company and asset level operations
  • Perform complex modeling and analysis of investment performance for the purpose of decision making and client reporting (revenue creation, occupancy displacement analysis, upselling analysis, CapEx proposals, budget approval and consolidation, structuring, operational efficient optimisation, hold/sell analysis and provision of recommendations including acquisitions)
  • Help in sourcing on and off market hotel investment opportunities
  • Support acquisition efforts for all Hotel deals in Europe
  • Assist in all aspects of analyzing and assessing models and closing on acquisition, finance and management opportunities
  • Carry-out the negotiation and due diligence process for all the above
  • Assist the Fund Manager and deal manager with the preparation and presentation of recommendations and presentations to Investment Committee, boards and clients
  • Act as point of contact for brokers and others for sourcing potential acquisitions/deals
  • Keep informed of the supply and demand dynamics of each market area
  • Maintain current knowledge of hotel industry trends and performance of comparable hotel strategies.


Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Fluent in English & French (spoken & written)
  • Knowledge of Hotel real estate, valuation and investments
  •  Comprehensive knowledge of hotel operations, and specifically operating on management agreements
  • Experience of Hotels asset management and/or acquisitions experience in Europe is essential
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of relevant experience, which may include intern positions
  • Experience of financial modeling with strong analytical ability and attention to detail
  • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a European team, in a reactive and accountable manner and demonstrate initiative
  • Excellent multi-tasking skills
  • Excellent PC skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Argus)
  • University degree in real estate, hospitality or finance with a strong academic record.
