Objective of Role:

LaSalle Investment Management is seeking an immediate full-time HR leader to join its Americas business and lead the Human Resources initiatives in the region.  Based out of our Chicago office, this dynamic role covers all facets of human resources along the employee life cycle.  The Americas business is comprised of approximately 275 employees across various functional areas.  This individual will partner with senior leaders of LaSalle’s private equity and public equity businesses, as well as global management of the firm at large. While the majority of employees are based at our global headquarters in Chicago, this role will also support remote employees in 7 other locations in the USA, Canada, and Mexico.  The individual will lead and manage a small HR team or HR Business Partner/Recruiter. This individual will be part of LaSalle’s Global HR team and have the opportunity to contribute in global projects and initiatives. Accountabilities:

  • Partner with senior executives and key leaders across all HR disciplines to develop and drive programs that optimize talent, structure and culture.
  • Provide day-to-day guidance on HR-related processes and procedures, performance management, compensation planning and project management to assigned stakeholders and business units.
  • Partner with senior leaders and managers on compensation programs and rewards during the year-end process and while hiring new talent.
  • Lead the training and development coordination for the region.Propose solutions to senior leaders that will help close gaps in employees’ skills and development needs.Work to optimize budgets while maximizing employee experiences. Partner with external training providers in the execution and evaluation of training programs.
  • Work with key stakeholders to develop strategic staffing plans and talent management that effectively optimize the talent platform, address performance gaps and develop leadership potential and provide recruiting support to the business.
  • Guide the Recruiter on strategies and needs of the business as needed.Partner with leadership on recruitment of executive level talent when needed within the business.
  • Partner with assigned teams to develop a solid understanding of the business, culture, and people.
  • Facilitate HR programs that enhance a culture of inclusiveness and diversity, linking development and leadership initiatives to business strategy and measurable results.
  • Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Proactively anticipate opportunities or issues in the market and develop innovative solutions.
  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues. Conduct effective, thorough and objective investigations. Engage Legal when appropriate.
  • Participate as a member of an international HR team in globally-sponsored human capital projects and issues, including but not limited to:leadership development, expatriate administration, recognition programs, training events and engagement survey coordination, analysis and action planning
 

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a client-focused HR Generalist role including recruiting, compensation, performance management, employee relations, project management and integrated talent management experience
  • Minimum 3-5 years leading and managing a team or equivalent evidence of leadership influence and managerial skills
  • Bachelor’s degree with major concentration in either HR or business; advanced degree preferred; experience in financial services sector a strong positive
  • HR certification (PHR, SPHR, GPHR) preferred; experience in professional services and / or global experience a plus
  • Change catalyst, balancing urgency and client responsiveness with methodology and discipline
  • Ability to see the big picture.
  • Effective presentation skills
  • An effective strategist and practitioner with a solid track record of successful execution of HR programs
  • Strong financial and business acumen
  • Ability to establish relationships with all levels of an organization, while gaining and maintaining credibility
  • High energy influencer, capable of persuading leadership and management within and outside of HR
  • Demonstrated data-driven, fact-based decision maker 
  • Current understanding/application of leading HR practices yet capable and willing to synthesize information and use terms consistent with existing business strategy
  • Strong collaboration skills and high integrity
  • Self-Starter; results oriented and motivated professional. Sets clear and ambitious goals to obtain measurable results for critical priorities and deliverables
  • Experience working in a global organization and demonstrated ability to work across cultures is highly desired
  • Willing to travel approximately 10-15% of the time within North America
  • Willing to travel internationally once per year, if needed
