LaSalle Investment Management (“LaSalle”) today announces the acquisition of two German properties on behalf of its E-REGI special fund. These are the “2-Scheiben” office building in the PLACE 4 Business Park, Ratingen and the office building 13/15 Junghofstraβe, Frankfurt.
The “2-Scheiben” office is the Western Region headquarters of Coca-Cola, which is anchor tenant of the fully-let ensemble of three buildings. A condition of the lease was award of the internationally-recognised LEED platinum green building certification. The PLACE 4 business park is situated on the outskirts of East Ratingen, adjacent to Dusseldorf airport, and is also home to Esprit, Nokia and SAP. GermanInvest Property Advisors GmbH acted as consultant in the acquisition process.
LaSalle’s acquisition at 13/15 Junghofstraβe is located within Frankfurt’s prime banking district, and has been let to Morgan Stanley Deutschland on a long-term basis. The office was acquired from BGT Grundstücksverwaltungs- und Beteiligungsgesellschaft mbH & Co. KG für Citybauten, a property company of Helaba Landesbank Hessen-Thüringen.
The LaSalle E-REGI fund uses LaSalle’s quantitative model to identify the cities and regions across Europe that have the greatest economic potential over the short to medium term, hence where demand for real estate is likely to be strongest. The fund was launched by specialist investment company LaSalle Investment Management Kapitalanlagegesellschaft mbH (“LaSalle KAG”), which is 100% owned by LaSalle GmbH, and has attracted investment from a number of major of major institutional investors.
